Brown, Amber And Red Ale At Redh

When we talk about the different types of ale, we usually refer to its colour. Most commonly you will hear of pale ale and strong dark ale, but in the middle of the two sits amber ale, red ale and brown ale - all of which are bursting with flavour!

Often the colour of the beer is mistaken for the level of alcohol volume it contains. But in reality, any colour ale can be any ABV. In fact, many lighter amber ales are a lot stronger than dark brown ales. Instead, the colour of ale is an indicator of the type of malt that has been used during the brewing process.

At Redh we stock a wide array of unique brown ale, amber ale and red ale all suited for different taste buds. For example, the Firebird Festive 51 ale is ruby red in colour and full of malty richness while Tiny Rebel's CWTCH red ale is clear amber in colour yet citrus and sweet in flavour!

At Redh, we pride ourselves on bringing you the best of British ale which is why all of the coloured ales in the collection have been sourced and produced by local British farmers. The brown, amber and red collection features bottle and can sizes which range from 330ml to 500ml and a number of our coloured ales are vegetarian and vegan - to find the ale that suits your needs, just filter by our preferences!
